ZF North America, the US subsidiary of German auto supplier ZF Friedrichshafen AG, is reportedly investing around $71 million and adding some 570 jobs at its technical centre in Northville Township, Michigan, USA.

The Michigan Economic Development Corp. has stated that the company is adding about 210,000 square feet of floor space at the western Wayne County location. The Michigan Strategic Fund approved up to $4 million in incentives for the expansion.

“ZF is a global leader in the automotive space, one that is long-known for its top-tier transmissions,” Governor Rick Snyder said in a statement. “This new expansion adds to Michigan’s standing as the automotive leader of North America.”

“Michigan has been home to ZF’s North American headquarters for more than 15 years and we are excited to continue our growth in the state and in the industries we serve,” Julio Caspari, President of ZF, said in a statement.

ZF North America is a subsidiary of ZF Friedrichshafen AG, which is based in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The company makes driveline and chassis components. Last month, ZF completed its acquisition of the largest US auto supplier, Livonia-based TRW Automotive Holdings Corp., in a $12.4 billion deal.
